Where is the Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago located?

The Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago was built in 2014 from the old train station building and is located at Rua João de Oliveira, 5425 - 352 Vidago.

Can all people make use of your services?

Yes, everyone can experience Wellness programs, nutrition consultations and podiatry. If you undergo Therapeutic Thermalism treatments, you will have a previous appointment with a Hydrologist physician before starting any program. He will analyse your situation and clinical history and check if there is any contradiction.

How can I use your services? Do I need to book in advance?

To benefit from our services, you must make a reservation in advance via email - reservas.bpvidago@chaves.pt - or phone +351 276 301 515.

If you want to carry through Therapeutic Treatments, you should schedule an appointment with the Hydrologist who will prescribe the most appropriate therapies for you. On the day of the appointment, don't forget to bring the most recent medical exams and, if you want to benefit from the National Health Service Co-payment, your Family Doctor's Prescription.

What documents should I present at the Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago?

On the scheduled day, go to the reception, register and present your Identification Document.

If you have an appointment with the Hydrologist, don't forget to bring all the relevant health information, such as diagnostic tests, medical reports, and medications you take.

What treatments can I do, and for what duration?

At the Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago, you will find several treatments indicated to treat pathologies of the nervous, circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems, skin, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. At the first medical appointment, the Hydrologist will indicate the most suitable treatments.

The number of days of treatment depends on the medical evaluation but varies between 7 to 21 days.

Does the National Health Service reimburse treatments?

Yes, Therapeutic Thermalism treatments are reimbursed. A direct discount of 35% of the treatments and consultation value is applied, up to a maximum amount of €95 per person. To benefit from the co-payment, you must previously request the Prescription from your Family Doctor.      

I intend to enjoy Wellness services. Do you have programs already prepared?

Yes, we have a wide range of Well-being Moments and complementary services in this area. The pre-defined Programs’ duration varies between 1 and 3 days.

Should I bring a towel? What do you provide?

The Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago provides a towel and bathrobe to all visitors.

If you undergo thermal treatments and it is necessary, you must bring a bathing suit. If needed, flip-flops and a shower cap will be offered at registration.

For Well-being Moments, you must bring a bathing suit, cap and flip-flops.

Can children attend your services?

Yes, all children are welcome in our facilities, as long as an adult accompanies them. In addition to therapeutic treatments prescribed by our Hydrologist, children can use the dynamic pool and, depending on the age, some Well-Being services are available for the little ones, such as the Thermal Kids Massage for children from 8 years old.

When should I start my treatments? Is there a more recommended time?

Before starting any treatment, you should consult a Hydrologist to define the most appropriate time for your situation. Our thermal season is from May to October. 

Does the Balneário Pedagógico de Vidago have its own accommodation?

No, the Balneário Pedagógico does not have accommodation. However, you will find a wide range of hotels in Vidago and the municipality. Reservations for stays must be made directly at the selected hotel.

What is the schedule, and how can I contact you?
